About

Antony Burton Born and growing up in Watford, I always had a keen interest in Computers as well as Art and Design. I was always drawing on the computer using the programme paint, and loved showing my family the end result and getting feedback.

I left school with my highest GCSE, being in Art and Design. Trying to find a job, in this day and age was very difficult just like for many. I ended up being in various temporary jobs, which only lasted about three months.

I knew I needed to choose a career that would be permanent, so I decided to combine the art and the computer together. I wanted to be able to create websites, so I asked at my local college and before I knew it I was learning web design.

I managed to successfully get a Distinction, and obtain a City and Guilds.

While attending college, I was also able to learn a bit of Photoshop. I really enjoyed the little bit of Photoshop, we learnt. It tempted me to, adapt on my little bit of knowledge I had.

I’m a wrestling fan, and a few years ago I found a fan site. On the forum, there is a graphics section. It allows its members to post any of their work. I would always go on there and be a bit jealous, as I wanted to commit my own work.

I eventually felt confident enough to enter a banner I created, in their local competition which I won first place. From then on I have been posting my work and receiving great advice and criticism. And if it weren’t for these great comments, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Once I got into a regular routine of making graphics, I had a new goal on my horizons. A side from trying to get a web design business up and running, the Phenom Forever forum had a graphics team. This team was responsible for taking on requests from the other members, whether it be for a signature/banner or an avatar. Now there are only a selected few who are chosen to be a part of this team, I knew I had to make some improvements to my work and styles.

After receiving both positive and negative criticism, it helped me to adapt and increase my skills. I had messaged the site administrator numerous times if I was good enough. He would always say your close, but you can still get better. It was always a big blow, to hear that you’re good but just not that good enough. But it was fuel to the fire, it just made more and more dedicated to improving. Eventually my improvements had been recognised, I was told by the site administrator that a position for a graphics staff member was available. He asked me if I wanted the position, I did not hesitate in accepting. So as from Tuesday 24th November 2009, I was given the title of Graphics Staff member a title which I hold with much pride.

A Friend on the forum liked my work and posted a really great comment, “Well, if you ever need help from anyone of the Graphics Staff/Me, I’d be happy to give it. I’m all for making someone better; also, you show signs of a good Graphics making career. With the amount of time you spend on one graphic, you could be a true perfectionist.” This was a great to read, I sent a message to him and said what I was doing regard web design and setting up the business.

City and Guilds He was pleased that I was taking this career path, he offered me help. Help that he still gives me now to get better, and its help that I adore as it is helping me to improve. He told me about PHP and WordPress; he said making sites through WordPress would allow me to make cool dynamic sites and help maintain the future sites I create. So my new goal is to learn PHP and WordPress, so Weburton can make your websites more Dynamic and attractive.
